The gardens and parks in the center of the city will once again become an impressive and inspiring temporary open-air gallery for the large, partly monumental sculptures made of glass. Small objects have found their place in the old St. Urbani church and in the modern hall of the municipal library. Mayoress Christina Fleckenstein will open the 11th International Exhibition GLASPLASTIK UND GARTEN on Saturday, August 17 at 16.00 against the backdrop of the St. Urbani Church.
The awarded art prize of 6,000 EURO will be awarded during the opening. Members of the jury are Simone Fezer, glass artist, Nadania Idriss, founder + executive director of Berlin Glas e.V., Karin Rühl, director of the Frauenau Glass Museum, Prof. Dr. med. Carl-Peter Buschkühle, Managing Director at the Institute for Art Education of the Justus Liebig University Gießen and Mayoress Christina Fleckenstein.
Concerts and festivals accompany the exhibition and offer culinary and acoustic delights of all kinds.
At the finissage on the 8th of September, an audience award will be given and the exhibition will be dismantled under Dixie-Sounds in the presence of the visitors.
