After an intermission of three years, the 9th International Exhibition “GLASS SCULPTURE AND GARDEN” will take place in Munster, Lüneburger Heide, from August 17 until September 8, 2013.

The Town of Munster hereby invites artists from all over the world to present their glass sculptures in several public areas of the town. For three weeks, gardens and parks of the town will be turned into a congenial outdoor gallery under the artistic direction of Milan Vobruba. An art prize worth € 6,000 will be awarded and presented during the vernissage on the occasion of the 2013 exhibition. In addition, an audience prize worth € 500 will be awarded on the occasion of the closing event.

Also in 2013, the exhibition “GLASS SCULPTURE AND GARDEN“ will be once again the outstanding artistic event in the region of the „Lüneburger Heide“. This unique event stands alone in Germany and, besides, is the most comprehensive and longest exhibition of its kind in Europe. The first exhibition took place in 1996 as a biennale event and since that time several hundred artists have benefited from the opportunity to exhibit their works of art as well as the respective intellectual and artistic involvement and dialogue.

In connection with the 2013 exhibition, each participating artist may show two large-size objects in the outdoor areas and, in addition, small-scale glass sculptures in the hall of the town’s library.

The term for filing an application will end on December 1, 2012.
